Diablo 4 Headhunts are Gonna Roll

Before discussing more details about Season 7, let's stop in at the Fat Goose, pull up a chair by the fireplace, and listen to what the locals are talking about these days.
It goes without saying that new players are arriving in Sanctuary all the time, even this late into a Season. While it may be true that Diablo 4 is not as complex as POE2, there’s still a lot of moving parts in this game that are essential for optimal game progression. Consequently, new players frequently post questions on the forums pertaining to basic game mechanics.
One such player recently posted this question on Reddit:
"I’m trying to make a whirlwind dust devil barb from Max roll and I’m a pretty new player to Diablo 4 just got to level 60 on my first character aka barb 2 days ago. How do I go about farming the gear I need for the build? Most of the aspects aren’t from dungeons."
So, exactly how should players go about obtain the remaining Legendary Aspects they need if those Aspects are unavailable from completing side dungeons. This is a perfectly legitimate question considering that, although the Codex of Power can help players to navigate to the respective side dungeons, the process for acquiring other Aspects is somewhat less apparent.
The community responded correctly by explaining that all the other non-dungeon Aspects must be obtained by salvaging Legendary gear items at the Blacksmith. However, getting the necessary Aspects from salvaging gear is governed by RNG, so it’s best to loot as much gear as efficiently as possible during the early game by doing the following activities:
- Farming Helltides.
- Farming Grim Favors.
- Cambling Obols at the Purveyor of Curiosities.
- Exchanging Pale Marks for gear at Fayira’s shop in the Den.
- Farming Headhunts (Season 7).

A brand-new Season is just a few hours away, and along with that comes the familiar question about how best to level up new characters. In the past, the best way to do that was probably Helltides or Infernal Hordes (assuming you could find a party), but now we have something new.
The Heads missing from the Tree of Whispers have become even more ghastly, true abominations. They are desperate to claim new bodies for themselves, to be whole and human again. But without the Tree they are incomplete, fragmented and mad. They spread a terrible rot to anyone they touch.
Multiple Headhunt zones will appear across Sanctuary, beginning on the Normal difficulty level. These zones signal that the vicious Headrotten are skulking about, eager to carry out their disembodied Heads’ command.
Some of the players who tried this new feature during the PTR reported that the enemy density in the Headhunt zones was intense. That, combined with having multiple zones active simultaneously, makes spamming this activity ideal for farming XP and gear.
To make the early leveling process even more productive, the Headhunt zones will include an ample number of Grim Favor bounties. What’s more, during the Season of Witchcraft, players will be able to turn in their Grim Favors at a new additional location: the Raven of the Tree, a friendly Raven found within Headhunts.
This means that players won’t even need to leave the zone to turn in their Grim Favors for Tree of Whispers caches, making the leveling and looting process even more efficient than in past Seasons. In addition to that, completing Whisper bounties within the Headhunts will also reward players with Coven’s Favor, which is the Reputation Reward System in Season 7.
Diablo 3 Endgame
Although it may seem somewhat counterintuitive, new players are still coming to Diablo 3 more than 12 years after its initial release. As one might expect, those new players have questions, such as the following one, which was posted recently on Reddit:
"I have a few questions, what am I supposed to do after completing the story? What is seasonal content and how does it work? And do I need other people to be able to do the endgame content? Ty."
Fortunately, new Diablo gamers quickly discover that they can always rely upon the Diablo community for support, and several more experienced players responded as follows:
- You don't need a party to play any endgame content, though exp farming and bounties are much faster in a group.
- If you're on PC, you can press Ctrl+J to open the Season Journey, assuming you're playing a seasonal character, and it will give you a bunch of tasks to complete which teach you the systems of the endgame.
- The core of the endgame gameplay loop is running Nephalem Rifts for keystones and then using those keystones to run Greater Rifts.
- Inspect all drops for upgrades and gamble the Bloodshards you get at Kadala for gear upgrades.
- If your character isn't a Seasonal character, the Season Journey won't be available to you. There's a new Season starting next Friday, so you might consider waiting until then.

Diablo Player Characters
As was mentioned in last week’s article, the original Diablo game is now available on PC Game Pass. Although Diablo was released 28 years ago, the Player Characters in that game have rather rich backstories that are still interesting and relevant even today.
The Warrior character was actually Prince Aidan, who was the eldest son of King Leoric of Khanduras. After defeating Diablo, dark forces compelled him to become the vessel for Diablo’s essence, after which he was known as the Dark Wanderer.
The Rogue character was originally known as Moreina and was a member of the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye. She, too, played a role in Diablo’s defeat, but fell into Hell’s thrall in the aftermath, thus transforming her into Blood Raven.
The Sorcerer character also had a storied past and was originally known as Jazreth. He was once a member of the Vizjerei and an opponent of Diablo. However, after defeating the Lord of Terror, he fell into evil, was transformed into the Summoner, and was struck down by a new group of heroes in the Arcane Sanctuary.
